Taupo Moto is your opportunity to get your bike on track in a safe and controlled environment!
Riders will be split into four groups, taking into account the different abilities of the riders: Yellow, Green, Blue, and Red (first time riders).
- Red Group - First time/Novice
- Blue Group - Step up from Red
- Green Group - Second fastest group
- Yellow Group - Most advanced riders
Please do not book into a speed group you do not belong to. You are expected to ride to the groups standards. If you do not, you may be removed from the track.
If this is your first time on the track or first time at Taupo Motorsport Park within the last 2 years, please book RED group. First-time riders will be required to undertake a complete induction on their first track day.
Track Day Pricing:
- International Circuit – Full Day: $225
- Pit Garages; 1 Bike Spot – Full Day: $50 (max 3 bikes per garage, you will be given your garage allocation at sign in)
All sessions are 15 minutes long, giving each rider at least five 15 minute sessions on track.
Please note: walk-ins will not be accepted. Only pre-booked customers will be accepted on the day. Bookings must be made by 4pm the day prior.

How it works
7AM
Track gates open and scrutineering begins shortly after (all bikes are required to be checked).
7:30AM
Registration begins.
8:30AM
Compulsory Riders Briefing.
9AM
First session begins. All sessions are 15 minutes long, giving each rider at least five 15 minute sessions on track.
Things you need to know
Safety
You must hold an NZTA FULL MOTORCYCLE LICENCE or a valid MNZ competition licence
Please DO NOT book into a speed group you do not belong to. You are expected to ride to the groups standards, if you do not you may be removed from the track. If this is your first time on track, please book Red group.
First time riders will be required to undertake a complete induction on their first track day
What to wear
All riders are required to wear a helmet, 270° leathers or one-piece leathers, gloves, boots, and back brace
It is recommended that all riders wear a chest protector

FAQS
Is this a Race Day?
No, it is a Track Day for bike enthusiasts to get their bike out on the track. We have separate dedicated Race Bike Test Days available to book.
Can I change the category I am on the day?
Yes, if you would like to drive in a slower/faster group on the day just speak to our Track Controller. If groups aren’t full, then they will get this sorted for you.
What if it rains or I can't attend the day I have booked?
If the weather is unsafe to ride in, we will postpone/cancel the Track Day and will send out an email with the rescheduled Track Day – this is the same for those that cannot come on the day. If you are unable to make the day, we will either reschedule or send a voucher which is valid for 1 year. There are no refunds or reschedules available if a customer starts and then leaves part way through the day.
Can I go out in 2 Speed Categories/Session?
No, due to health and safety restrictions we cannot let you ride in 2 speed categories/sessions, as you will get more than 1 and a half hours of riding throughout the day.
Can I wear textiles instead of leathers?
No, due to our health and safety all riders must wear leathers.
What licence do I need to ride on a track Day?
A valid New Zealand full motorcycle licence. A MNZ Race Licence is also accepted.
Can I book for another rider?
No, each rider must book for themselves.
Can I sell/give someone else my booking?
No. Booking are non-transferable between riders.
