Why us
The Taupo Go Karts are a must-do experience. Our modern Karts and the newly redeveloped 400m outdoor track makes for an exhilarating experience. We also have two seater Karts, which makes the experience accessible to 6-10 year old's. Opening hours are Friday to Sunday: 10am - 4:45pm.

Things you need to know
Safety
Single kart drivers must be at least 10 years old and at least 140cm tall
Tandem kart drivers must be at least 16 years old and at least 140cm tall
Tandem kart passengers must be at least 6 years old and at least 120cm tall
Maximum weight: 120kg (single)
Maximum height: 2m
Drivers aged 12 years and under will be speed restricted
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your booking
We have zero tolerance to alcohol on all self drive activities
What to wear
No loose items or clothing
Closed footwear
You may bring your own full face NZ safety accredited helmet, if you prefer
What we provide

*Although you may comply with the age and height restrictions above, you must have the ability to fully control the Kart. - as everyone carries their height differently. Some customers may be required to prove they can control the kart in our test go kart prior to departure. Final decision will be made by our Go Kart team.
FAQS
What happens if it rains?
We do not operate in wet weather and will pause go kart track activity until we see fit to resume.
I have a group of 13 or more people, what is the best way to book?
Please email gokarts@taupomp.co.nz and our staff will be happy to assist you and ensure you receive the group discount pricing.
What time do I need to arrive?
30 minutes prior to your first race. This allows us time to register and brief you. If you do not arrive 30 minutes prior, you may miss out on your race.
What do I need to wear?
Covered in shoes. Please refrain from wearing any loose clothing as well as this may be hazardous. Everything else you require, we provide.
Can I bring food/drinks?
Yes, you can however there is a strict NO alcohol policy on the premises and customers may be breath tested if you are suspected of being under the influence before your race.
Can I buy multiple races?
Yes, you can. However, you MUST have a 10-minute health and safety break between each race. Please use the "2 or 3" race options when booking online to ensure your races are correctly spaced.
How long is a race/How fast do our karts go?
Races are 10 minutes long. The Single Karts are capable of speeds up to 50km/hr and the Tandem Karts are capable of speeds up to 40km/hr.
Are there height/age/weight restrictions?
Yes, there is. For our single karts, our minimum age is 10 years old and 140cm tall.
For our tandem karts, the driver must be 16 years old and 140cm, the passenger is required to be a minimum of 6 years old and 120cm tall.
Please note that our maximum height is 200cm (6 foot, 6 inches) tall and maximum weight is 120kg. We cannot allow any person exceeding this to ride in our karts strictly due to customer health and safety.
